cancer01712Full moon in cancer January 12th

At this full moon things have come to a point of crisis or change.  We feel so rattled, so needing a change and new way of being we must DO something different.  We need to take action and shake up the norm.

It feels like a bursting, explosion, eruption of all that was and now we stand there with the shards all around us.  There are many directions, many paths.  It’s time to plot out our own.  It’s time to choose one and begin the trek onward into the new. It’s time for something new.  We are no longer locked in one place or stuck carrying all the heavy emotional stuff of the past, we need to decide how we will now move out into the world.  What is our purpose?  What do we want?  How can I try something different to get the cage wheel going in a new direction?  What excites me or is pulling my attention?  So this full moon, try something different from now until the end of the month.  Take a new class, start a new challenge, meet someone new.  Just do something different and toss your desire for something new into the wind.

Whether you believe it or not, there is NO denying that planets influence us. When the sun is shining, we feel uplifted, happy, energised, this is the fire element at work and the masculine

La luna, the moon, is feminine, so soft and deep. She governs among other things, water, so think tides here and how fishermen know certain moon phases will deliver more opportunity to catch fish!!. Our bodies are 70% water. Our emotions are watery, so when the moon is dancing her way around our planet, our emotional bodies are being affected. Google full moon emergency services and you will find globally, at full moons, more emergency services are required, and where do you think the term ‘lunatic’ came from?

With this full moon, think back to July 2016, what issues where up for you, what emotional challenges or awareness’s happened, what were you working through in your everyday life and have you REALLY let all of that go, then look forward to july 2017…think about what you are working with today and how that can clear the way for action when the sun delivers the Cancerian energy to us in a masculine way.

The Full Moon in Cancer  will be strong emotionally; this sign brings our attention to home & family, our feelings and moods, nurturing, intimacy, security, safety and releasing insecurity around any of these things.

Since Cancer is also in charge of the foundations of our lives, the Full Moon in this sign is a perfect time to release anything that is over bearing at work that might be interfering with your family life. Like working too many hours, too much travel away from home, or bring work home with you.

The foundations of our lives also include what our family heritage is and the beliefs families share and learn from previous generations.

Release, release release

We are still in the late stages of releasing…some of us have really found we are being FORCED to let go, change direction, move forward, be clear. Get on with it

With this ritual to lead you in the next 2 weeks towards the birthing of the new year at first new moon om Jan 28th. And the Chinese New year, let’s create a simple, powerful nurturing time in ritual and scared space

Gather your tools

If possible, be outside to do this as you can call in the support and embrace of mother earth.

Incense or sage, or both

Candles

Matches

Paper

Pens

Shells

Bowl of water

Oracle cards

Being born of the ocean, shells are strongly associated with the element of water. They are also associated with the moon, which drives ocean tides. Both the element of water and the moon have strong feminine energies that are receptive in nature, so shells are primarily used in magic to draw things you desire into your life.

Protection is a shell’s primary purpose in nature, as it is made to keep small, defenceless sea creatures safe from harm. Because of this, shells have strong protective energies. Many cultures in coastal areas use shells in folk magic to protect the home by placing strings of shells over windows and doors

  1. Clear your energy. Imagine standing under a silver waterfall, the energy of the moon beams and allow all negative and non-serving energies to be washed away. Use a smudge stick or incense to clear through your energy field, and the space you are in.
  2. Engaging in focused Intention is what this small ritual is about. Be fully present to what you are creating here.
  3. Create a sacred space. Find a quiet place to sit, declutter and clean, place crystals or other special items around you. Take a few breaths to bring all parts of you into a place of reverence. Offer a small prayer of gratitude to La Luna, the moon, as ancients saw her..”Grandmother moon” and ask for the power of her energy to assist, shift, gently bring courage to let go.
  4. Have all your tools around you. Bless them
  5. Pick up your sea shell…this represents the ‘protection’ you have created around certain beliefs in life, the illusion, barrier, closed door to hurts, deep pain, wounding, emotional vulnerabilities. Hold the shell between your hands, and place at your heart. YOU KNOW what lives there, so with a few moments imagine, or intend those protective ‘barriers’ to release, dissolve, open up and allow what is held deeply to be transmitted towards the shell. Imagination is fabulous if you cannot visualise. What we imagine we create!!!
  6. When complete, wash your hands in the water, then place the shell in the bowl of water, the cleansing, softening, dissolution properties of the water will do its magic. Remember, the moon governs the waters on earth and in us. Water flows to find the place of less resistant, Moves around blockages, finds another way. State..thankyou.
  7. Take a few deep breaths, centre yourself and then begin to write on the piece of paper what you wish to release from your life, what limiting beliefs you want to be free from, what no longer serves you or what you want to let go of. Remember there is still a few things that have been forcing us to acknowledge their play in life, the things we have created, ignored, denied, been afraid to deal with. Even the ‘protective” habits keeping aspects of who we are hidden and safe.
  8. When you have finished your list, sign and date the page.
  9. Breathe deep into your heart and declare “I lovingly and gratefully, release and let go of this go. And it is so.”  Take a couple of breaths to intend the moon cascading through you from soul star, above your head to earth star beneath your feet, cleansing, wshing away, purifying. Imagine the silver waterfall again, as each cell is bathed in the shimmer of moonlight.

Then place one corner of the piece of paper over the candle allowing the flame to light your page (throw the page into the empty bowl as it burns) watching the flames consume what you are releasing, the smoke taking your intention to the Universe. Please note: if your piece of paper struggles to light or burn, please consider if you are really ready to let this go! Only when you are willing to let go will the page burn – the faster the flames, the more willing you are to let it go. Or you can place into a fire.

  1. Then place your hands in the bowl of water. Signifying cleansing of the old and opening to the new.
  2. Remove your hands from the water and take a deep breath. Sit in silence for a moment. You may want to keep your candle burning for a while as you sit, allowing inspiration to spark.
  3. I like to pull an oracle card to seal the ritual. Read it, feel it, embrace it. As you shuffle the cards you could ask, what is required of me now after this release., pull a card.
  4. leave shell in bowl of water over night under the full gaze of the moon, then next day, return to ocean, river or place in garden or pot plant.
  5. enjoy the feeling of spaciousness and sit if you can under the full moon  while enjoying a cuppa, a wine, a juice a herbal tea. Indulge you with the space to feel within you.
